I like to investigate a concept with different disciplines as photography, drawing, sculpture, philosophy and painting. In the end everything finds her way in oilpaint. My work is a reflection about existence and alienation. Meaning arises from preassumptions about time, space and self. My philosophical background plays a part in my desire for intrinsicness and authenticity and I rise questions about the possibility of this.

Next to these post-modern notions I am very aware of the tradition of the art of painting. I have been studiying a lot on the handwriting/ techniques of the old dutch masters (17th century). Paintings are build in layers. This makes the colours intense and atmospheric. Technique and contempt reinforce each other. Being born in a family of craftsman I value coöperation with the substance and enjoy paying attention to detail.
